Low Energy Glass
We recommend using Low Energy glass but can also supply standard glass. Just specify your requirements on the
Low emissivity (low E) glass incorporates a very thin layer of metallic coating on one surface. To protect it from wear, the low E coated surface is positioned in the outer face of the inner pane. The coating allows heat from the sun to enter the building but significantly reduces heat loss from inside the building by reflecting radiant heat back into the room.
Our units use “ClimaGuard A” glass (guardian-europe.com) that has been specifically designed to suit the UK applications (i.e. lack of sun!). To maximise this benefit our units are Argon gas filled. The introduction of pumping Argon Gas into the cavity of a double glazed unit reduces the heat conductance between the panes even more, helping to keep more heat in during the winter and out in the summer.
In summary our Low E units have the following advantages:
1. Reduce energy usage and save money on heating bills.
2. Reduce the amount of internal condensation.
3. Guaranteed for five years.
More external condensation may be observed on the glass – This is not a fault with the window, it is because more heat is being retained in your house by our energy efficient units.
